Cozzee coffee is now helping Exile International provide six rescued child soldiers and war-affected children between the ages of 6-21 years with clothing and uniforms at the Goma, D.R. Congo Peace Lives Center. Many of these children have a story of hope, like Janet, a child-bride and sex slave, who escaped with her two young children while being shot at by government soldiers. As a result of Exile International’s commitment to her, she has became a leader of other mothers in her community, graduated from school and has continued her education at a university despite her pain. The story of Janet shows how with the right support one’s life can change dramatically.

When we reach our financial goal we’ll help provide children like Janet the care and hope they need to continue the healing process and aid them in becoming the future peace leaders of DR Congo. Take a look at their work from the leaders of Exile International in the video below.

Since 2008, Exile International has existed to restore rescued child soldiers and war-affected children to become leaders for peace through art therapy and holistic, rehabilitative care in Central and East Africa. Armed forces and rebels have abducted more than 100,000 children. At the center, Exile International has made it their mission is to transform and restore the lives of these children through rehabilitative care, awareness, education, housing, food, medical, training of local leaders and art.
